Our People
Mark Knight
Mark Knight is the founder and Director of Avoclean Window Cleaning Services, established in 1982. Mark has over 30 years experience in window cleaning, building maintenance and management and is well known and highly respected in the Australian window cleaning industry. Indeed Mark was responsible for pioneering the commercial abseiling industry in NSW.
Mark has worked both onshore and offshore, in the oil and gas industry in the North Sea and spent time in the British Royal Fleet Auxiliary.
Mark has been trained in the commercial abseiling industry, working in confined spaces industry, and holds the following qualifications:
Elevated work platform ticket
Life Raft/ Life Boat Survival Skills
Fire Fighting and evacuation
Certified in roping & wire cable techniques and rigging
Over the last 20 years Mark has led Avoclean to be the largest window and facade cleaning company in Australia. Under Mark's management Avoclean has also expanded its services to include pressure cleaning, stain cleaning, maintenance and repairs, painting and sign and banner work.
Mark has also been responsible for innovations in window cleaning including introducing the Purified Window Washing system to Australia. Other Avoclean innovations have included the development and patenting of the Klinch product, a new device used for securing work tools.
Deon Kelly
Operations Supervisor
Deon Kelly is Avoclean's Operations Supervisor. Deon has worked in the industrial rope access industry for over 15 years and is highly qualified having attained an IRATA L.3 (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) qualification as well as having an elevated work platform ticket. Deon is also a highly regarded and experienced trainer in IRATA L.3/ Certificate IV in workplace training and assessment.
Deon has extensive experience working in confined spaces and in the NDT (Non-Destructive Techniques) field. He is also highly experienced in window cleaning and building maintenance.
Deon's career includes working both onshore in the high-rise window cleaning and building maintenance sectors as well as offshore in New Zealand, Qatar, East Timor, Athens, Nigeria and China in the oil and gas industry.
Additionally, Deon is an experienced Supervisor having led numerous teams across different countries and cultures and has a particular focus in his leadership style on quality, safely, technique and efficiency.
Stacey Abatzis
Office Manager
Stacey Abatzis is the Office Manager and has been working with Avoclean since 2007. Stacey holds a Diploma in Accounting and is highly experienced in finance, marketing, administration and client relationship management fields and has a considerable knowledge of the window cleaning and industrial rope access industries.
Stacey supervises all of the financial and administrative activities that facilitate the smooth and efficient operations of the Avoclean office.
Stacey's primary responsibilities include supervising the work of the office staff, updating and maintaining the company data base and other systems, improving policies and procedures, managing the weekly payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable as well as the handling of customer enquiries.
Quality Programs Avoclean Window Cleaning Services has been working with a specialist in Quality Management since 1998 to assist in developing a Service and Quality culture and to develop a robust Quality Assurance Program. One of Avoclean Window Cleaning Services strategic objectives was to become one of the first window cleaning companies in Australia to be quality accredited and we received our ISO 9001 accreditation in October 2004. Good quality programs makes our company and our employees more efficient, therefore more cost-effective and of greater value to our clients.
